About Us

The American Association of University Women was founded in 1881 with only 65 members and is now a National Organization with more than 130,000 members. This diverse group is made up of educated people promoting equity for women, education and self-development over the life span, and fostering social change.

Educational Foundation

The AAUW Educational Foundation provides funds to advance education, research and self-development for women and to foster equity and positive societal change.

Legal advocacy Fund

AAUW’s Legal Advocacy Fund provides funding and a support system for women seeking judicial redress for sex discrimination.

Boca Raton Branch

Our Boca Raton Branch embodies this mission at the local level through our meetings and fund raising activities which provide scholarships for deserving women. In addition, our group provides opportunities for socializing with other women with common interests through our book club, and other types of get-togethers.

The Boca Raton Branch originated in 1967.
